Search Engine Optimization – What is SEO?

A higher search ranking is of great importance to website owners. Search engine optimization (SEO) is the process of improving the volume or quality of traffic to a web site from search engines via search results. SEO considers how search engines work and what people search for. By optimizing a website, a site will be ranked higher in the search results list which typically results in more visitors. With Caorda Content you can control your page content and metadata information.

SEO Benefits:

  • Higher Return on Investment: SEO brings you a higher return on your investment than with any comparable form of marketing.
  • Long term Positioning: A properly designed and optimized site should stay long term in the rankings.
  • Targeted Traffic: SEO can increase the number of visitors who are actively searching for your service or product.
  • Increase Brand Visibility: SEO can give your brand an international profile for a comparatively low cost.
  • Higher Sales: SEO can mean increased sales of your product or service.
  • Cost-Effective way of marketing: A promotion that works 24/7.
  • Navigable by the Engines: All pages should be accessible to the engines, thus making your site easy for the engines to index and correctly categorize.
  • Usability: Visitors have a more pleasant user experience.

At a minimum, adding SEO metadata using Caorda Content involves the following:

  • Adding a title to your page
You may define a title that appears on all pages of your web site. If the title adequately describes the content of that page, search engines will be able to more accurately ascertain what that page is about. Title can be defined at the site level or at the page level.
  • Adding a short description to your page
The Description appears in the HTML code of every web page, and is used by search engines to associate a description with your web site. Descriptions can be defined at the site level or at the page level.
  • Adding keywords to your page
Keywords appear in the HTML code of every web page, and are used by search engines to associate search terms with your web site. Keywords can be defined at the site level or at the page level.
  • Adding custom metadata elements
Custom metadata elements are user-defined sections used for application-specific purposes (ie. Google's webmaster tools).
