CRD Traffic Safety Commission

Safety doesn’t happen by accident, and neither does exceptional website design! Caorda was selected through an RFP process in late 2016 to create a new website for the Capital Regional District (CRD) Traffic Safety Commission (TSC). The CRD TSC was established in 1990 as a community effort to decrease the number of traffic incidents. The commission’s members come from a variety of sectors including the medical industry, community health, police, business, university research, traffic engineering, community programs, and individuals with traffic safety education.

The Challenge

The commission came to Caorda with an outdated logo and web presence that didn’t properly represent its values and professionalism. It had been several years since the original logo had been created and it needed a refresh. The concept (the 3 yellow caution signs) was working just fine to symbolize the organization’s purpose, but the brand was in need of some more modern fonts, colours and styles. For the website, it was originally created as a subdomain on WordPress.com and needed a fresh start with a dedicated domain name and responsive design.

The Solution

Caorda was the perfect fit to create a website and an updated logo to better meet the commission’s needs. We made small changes to the logo, but they sure help give the new website a clean, modern tone. As with all of our branding clients, we equipped the TSC with a package of various file formats for their new logo, compatible with a wide array of web-based and print-based outlets. Never underestimate the importance of branding. Learn more about branding »

The new site effectively showcases the organization’s messaging and campaigns, while allowing for easy content updates by the commission using the WordPress backend. One major highlight of the new site is the local drone footage captured by Victoria Air Photos. The CRD TSC is now a full-meal deal Caorda client: hosting, web design, branding, support, and maintenance!
