Music Schools International Langley offers a wide variety of group and private music lessons for children and adults. The school first opened in 2015 and has grown considerably since opening its doors to the Langley music community. MSI Langley recently expanded into a new location to accommodate an increasing menu of musical lesson options, including piano, guitar, singing, violin, wind instruments and more.

MSI Langley first approached Caorda to start up a digital marketing campaign in 2018 that included Google Ads and SEO optimizations for the website. Fast forward to 2023, and they approached us again to rebuild their original, outdated website and give it a modern design refresh with an improved user experience.

The Challenge

With over 5 years’ worth of Search Engine Optimization work invested into the old website, the challenge was to transition to a new site while still retaining the website’s impressive search rankings, as well as considerable investments in on-page SEO optimizations. Transitioning to a new website can be a disruptive event in Google as the search engine attempts to make sense of the reorganization and new home for replaced new and existing pages. Finding a successful solution was critical to the success of the project.

The Solution

Our digital marketing team was heavily involved throughout the entire lifecycle of the new site build, from initial design through to development and launch. A successful transition plan was drafted that included a content audit to index all existing pages, and a redirect plan was put in place to account for any removed pages. While a slight dip in organic traffic can be expected post-website launch, the transition plan will aid Google in making sense of all the changes and minimize disruptions to results.  All new pages received optimized meta descriptions, and new blog post page templates were developed with SEO best practices. Google Ads campaigns were also updated to redirect to the new content pages. Our design team also created each page with conversion optimization in mind in order to attract and capture new potential clients for the school.

We could not be happier with how the new website turned out. Most importantly, post-launch SEO reports are showing a continuation of positive results in digital marketing. It was a pleasure working with Marlaena and the super supportive team at MSI Langley on this project!
