The Vitamin Shop (TVS) has been providing consumers with high quality brand-name nutritional supplements at discounted prices since 1984. In a relatively short time, they’ve become the Premier Vitamin and Nutritional Supplement Dispensary in the country.
When TVS approached Caorda, they were using two separate antiquated software products for their inventory/POS system and their public website/eCommerce. Both software products were being supported by single remote developer, a solution no longer viable in today’s modern e-commerce environment.
The lack of support combined with security risks and digital marketing limitations led TVS to search for a one-stop-shop web company with a proven track record.

Requirements & Platform Decision
The first step was to complete a detailed requirements phase that involved reviewing the old systems and planning the business needs of the company. It was decided a new website was to be built with Shopify’s Software as a Service solution.
Our development team was confident that Shopify would be the best option for TVS. Eliminating the need for two separate products, Shopify would provide a tighter integration between different components of the website while eliminating the antiquities and blatant security risks. Plus, Shopify provides businesses with flexible and adaptable storefronts that are simple to update.

Building a New Shopify Store
The new Shopify website has not only streamlined the business but made things easier for customers and prospective buyers. Users can easily shop thousands of products with just one click in the main menu, which is divided by product category. There’s also the option to shop by brand or shop by popular product category, plus the high-powered search bar allows users to find specific products in a flash.
Purchasing from the store is now a breeze thanks to the new Shopify site. One click adds a product to your cart, and check out can be triggered without leaving the page. From there, checkout is completed on one simple page with minimal barriers.
Digital Marketing
In order to tap into the massive market for nutritional supplements beyond the storefront, TVS enlisted our digital marketing team to completely redevelop and deploy their paid marketing strategies across Google Search, Google Shopping, and the Google Display network. Additionally, the team redeveloped the Meta and Instagram ads campaigns utilizing new audience targeting features available via the new Shopify integrations.
When we took over their Google Ads account, the ads were experiencing little success targeting extremely competitive products for a few trade partners. We started by implementing purchase value and revenue tracking with data from the website. This also allowed us to utilize Google and Meta’s advanced machine learning capabilities that would allow us to optimize the campaigns in the future. We then expanded with a highly successful brand-focused campaign, which gave us a leg up on competitors and quickly began generating tens of thousands in monthly sales.
Our marketing team took over TVS’ Facebook ads to help with numerous vendor campaigns and asset creation. Then, when the Shopify website launched, we were able to utilize powerful shopping tools across paid platforms like Meta and Google.
The Result
As a result, the paid campaigns coupled with the new, easy-to-use-website are generating hundreds of online purchases every month. In addition, the website is attracting thousands of monthly visitors from organic search thanks to strong rankings and behind-the-scenes digital marketing efforts.
