Recently, our team got to work on a new Shopify site for local entrepreneur Cindy Leung and her fashion and accessories company, CinCin La Chic. Cindy and CinCin La Chic are on a mission to help people celebrate their individuality by curating a selection of jewelry, bags, hair accessories, fragrances, and more for their beautiful online shop.
The Challenge
Not long ago, Cindy realized it was time for a new website with powerful ecommerce capability. She thought about handling the project herself, but quickly realized her busy schedule wouldn’t allow for it. Plus, she wanted to make sure her time remained fully dedicated to sourcing new products, building relationships, and growing her brand. She approached Caorda to build her new site on a tight timeline, and we were happy to help.
From the start, we knew ecommerce would be a top priority for Cindy’s new website, but we also had to consider how the inventory would be managed due to the seasonality of her product line. We needed a platform that would allow Cindy to easily update her inventory in real time, send and track invoices for ad hoc orders, choose different shipping vendors, and more.
Along with powerful ecommerce capabilities, Cindy had a specific look and feel in mind for her new site. She wanted to avoid building a site that had a homemade feel, and instead wanted something more polished that would reflect the high quality of CinCin La Chic’s hand-curated products. We knew that creating a strong digital presence for her brand while showcasing her products in the best light would be a main focus.
After our initial conversations with Cindy about her business needs, the features and tools she needed, and how she planned on using her website to manage her business, we were ready to get started.
The Process
To kick things off, Caorda worked closely with Cindy to determine the sitemap of the new site, the various collections that would need to be featured, and her aesthetic preferences for how she wanted things to look.
We determined that Shopify would be the best fit for CinCin La Chic, as this content management system would allow Cindy to take ownership of managing her site down the road. We knew Shopify would not only give us the ability to build a polished, sophisticated online store, but allow Cindy to easily manage her inventory by herself. We also favoured Shopify for their robust marketing integrations that would empower Cindy to promote her new store through digital channels like Google, Facebook, Instagram, and email.
Our Shopify development team designed a collection of engaging page layouts to ensure the store was easy to navigate, which organized CinCin La Chic’s products by category and featured the top selling categories on the homepage. We also enabled features that would allow website users to easily leave product reviews without having to stumble through multiple pages.
To ensure Cindy would be able to update her product inventory seasonally and by herself, we guided her through a few online training sessions. Cindy was able to quickly master all of Shopify’s tools and settings. Now, she’s able to manage orders and inventory, update the look and feel of the store, and run successful marketing campaigns all from within her Shopify admin area.
